Wisconsin Peer Specialist (CPS) Certification Exams

You must have successfully completed the state-approved Peer Specialist Training in order to apply to take the Certification Exam. You may apply to take an exam within one year of your training completion date.

CPS exams are capped at 150 participants statewide per exam date. Online/remote 2022-23 upcoming CPS exams are scheduled for:

  • November 16, 2022 – (Application deadline: Payment, application, and an uploaded or mailed training Certificate of Completion must be submitted or postmarked by October 19th, 2022)

  • January 18, 2023 – (Application deadline: Payment, application, and an uploaded or mailed training Certificate of Completion must be submitted or postmarked by December 14th, 2022)
  • March 15, 2023 – (Application deadline: Payment, application, and an uploaded or mailed training Certificate of Completion must be submitted or postmarked by February 15th, 2023)
  • May 10, 2023 – (Application deadline: Payment, application, and an uploaded or mailed training Certificate of Completion must be submitted or postmarked by April 12th, 2023)
  • September 27, 2023 – (Application deadline: Payment, application, and an uploaded or mailed training Certificate of Completion must be submitted or postmarked by August 30th, 2023)

Reasonable accommodations requests for CPS/CPPS exams must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the exam date.

 

Notes on In-person Exams (currently on hold due to COVID-19):

Personal electronic devices including, but not limited to, phones, laptops, and tablets will not be permitted into the testing area. Purses, backpacks, and similar bag-like personal items similarly will not be permitted into the testing area. We strongly recommend that you leave these items at home, in a car, or with a trusted individual.

All Independent Living Centers that serve as testing sites for in-person exams are fragrance-free. Please do not wear cologne, perfume, or scented body products the day of the exam.
