CPS and CPPS must recertify every two years and document completion of no fewer than 20 hours of continuing education in specific topic areas. As a Certified Peer Specialist you will need need to submit your recertification application by September 30th in the year in which your certification expires. The year of expiration is noted on your physical certificate from the state (older certificates may list August 30th, but you will still have until September 30th to submit).
