with Victoria (Vic) Welle
November 28th, 2022 from 1:30 – 3:00 pm CT
Victoria (Vic) Welle, CPS, CPS/IPS Trainer, Facilitator, & Consultant
Before becoming a peer support worker, Victoria (Vic) Welle studied theology and was active in faith-based organizations. Vic is currently a peer support trainer and consults with faith communities seeking to be more inclusive and welcoming spaces.
Spirituality can often be an important factor for people in their recovery and healing process. How can peer supporters engage with spirituality in ways that are trauma-informed and culturally sensitive? This community of practice will explore strategies for addressing spiritual concerns in peer support settings, including the role of cultural humility, respectful engagement with spiritual practices, and how the topic relates to the peer specialist scope of practice.
