Determining Eligibility and Fit

• Dedicated to promoting recovery opportunities in the lives of Parent Peers
• Must have first-hand lived experience parenting a youth with social, emotional, behavioral concerns/substance use concerns
• Must reside in a tribe in Wisconsin or in a Wisconsin county
• Must have at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be 18 years of age or older

20-22 participants will be selected for this training. To be considered for selection, you must meet the basic eligibility requirements above, submit an application form, and complete an interview. There is no training registration cost for participants.

Applications received are reviewed by trainers in full, and a variety of criteria may determine whether an applicant is asked to interview and possibly participate in a training. These include, but are not limited to:

• Whether or not the applicant meets the basic eligibility requirements to become a Certified Parent Peer Specialist (18 or older, possesses either a high school diploma or GED, is a Wisconsin resident, has first-hand lived experience parenting a youth with social, emotional, behavioral concerns/substance use concerns)
• Whether or not the applicant meets secondary eligibility requirements that are training-specific (belongs to the county, tribe, region, and/or community served by the particular training)
• Whether or not the applicant is seeking employment or is already employed in a peer support position and/or a supervisory role to CPPS (trainings are intended to serve workforce development efforts as part of an employment initiative)
• Whether or not the applicant is a community member looking to use their personal experiences to support others towards recovery/wellness/meaningful living
• How well the applicant is able to demonstrate an understanding of recovery principles, especially in such a way that supports self-determination of people with lived experience
• Whether or not the applicant has experience offering peer support in a professional or personal setting

Because this training is the pre-requisite to registering for the state-approved CPPS exam, and a pathway to working in a professional peer support role, applications demonstrating the following may not be given priority in the application review process:

• Applicants seeking this certification simply as a resume booster
• Applicants looking to obtain the certification but not go on to work in the role of a CPPS or CPPS supervisor
• Applicants looking to use this training as the “next step in their recovery”
• Applicants who show they do not support many pathways to recovery
• Applicants only seeking certification in order to bill as a CPPS while providing non-CPPS services

Determinar la elegibilidad y la idoneidad

• Debe tener 18 años de edad o más.

Se seleccionarán entre 20 y 22 participantes para esta capacitación. Para ser considerado para la selección, debe cumplir con los requisitos básicos de elegibilidad anteriores, enviar un formulario de solicitud y completar una entrevista. No hay costo de inscripción a la capacitación para los participantes.

Solicitar esta o cualquier capacitación de CPS no garantiza la selección como participante.

• Si el solicitante está buscando empleo o ya está empleado en un puesto de apoyo entre pares y/o en una función de supervisión de CPS (las capacitaciones están destinadas a servir a los esfuerzos de desarrollo de la fuerza laboral como parte de una iniciativa de empleo).
• Si el solicitante es o no un miembro de la comunidad que busca utilizar sus experiencias personales para apoyar a otros en su recuperación/bienestar/vida significativa.
• Qué tan bien el solicitante es capaz de demostrar una comprensión de los principios de recuperación, especialmente de tal manera que apoye la autodeterminación de las personas con experiencia vivida.
• Si el solicitante tiene o no experiencia ofreciendo apoyo entre pares en un entorno profesional o personal.

Debido a que esta capacitación es un requisito previo para registrarse para el examen CPS aprobado por el estado y una vía para trabajar en una función profesional de apoyo entre pares, es posible que las solicitudes que demuestren lo siguiente no tengan prioridad en el proceso de revisión de solicitudes:

• Solicitantes que buscan esta certificación simplemente como refuerzo para su currículum.
• Solicitantes que buscan obtener la certificación pero no continuar trabajando en el rol de CPS o supervisor de CPS.
• Solicitantes que deseen utilizar esta capacitación como el “siguiente paso en su recuperación”.
• Solicitantes que demuestran que no apoyan muchos caminos hacia la recuperación.
• Solicitantes que solo buscan certificación para facturar como CPS mientras brindan servicios que no son CPS.

Consideraciones

Completar y enviar la solicitud en línea

En primer lugar, es altamente recomendado que complete y envie el formulario de solicitud de capacitación en línea utilizando una computadora de escritorio o una tableta y no un teléfono inteligente.

Es importante que responda todas las preguntas requeridas (marcadas con un asterisco*) en el formulario de solicitud de capacitación en línea. También existen requisitos de formato con respecto a las fechas y otras respuestas (como, por ejemplo, la dirección de correo electrónico). Si las respuestas obligatorias no se responden en el formulario de solicitud o se ingresa las respuestas incorrectamente, se registrará como un error y su solicitud no nos será enviada cuando presione el botón “enviar”.
