In January of 2022, the Wisconsin Peer Specialist Employment Initiative (WIPSEI) and Helios Recovery Services collaborated to hold a conversation exploring the unique roles of Certified Peer Specialists and Recovery Coaches. These roles have some commonalities and key differences.
Brittyn Calyx, Peer Specialist Program Manager of the WIPSEI at Access to Independence and Jesse Heffernan, Co-Owner of Helios Recovery Services discussed some of the overlap, expectations, perceptions, and differences of CPS and RCP roles in an initial conversation to build bridges between these professional communities on January 21st, 2022.
