Tim Saubers took on the role of Peer Specialist Program Manager at Access to Independence, the contracting agency for the WI Peer Specialist Employment Initiative, in December of 2018. He first became a Certified Peer Specialist in 2016 in Milwaukee. He worked in direct service peer support for a crisis services program at a Milwaukee based non-profit before going on to supervise that program. During this time he also became a WRAP and SMART Recovery facilitator. In addition to his role as Peer Specialist Program Manager, he also sits on 6 statewide committees related to the development of the CPS program.
Tim is excited to continue the professional development of the peer and parent peer roles through the state certification program as well as the growth of employment opportunities and community education. He is looking forward to the expansion of the program and continued growth of the profession. Outside of his role he can be found volunteering in the community and exploring Madison.
